Take discretion
away from prosecutors- by mandating that
cultivation of 25 plants is automatically a trafficking offense it will
impede prosecutors from weighing special circumstances like
personal cultivation for medical purposes.
Give Florida
stricter penalties then the Federal Government -Florida
has the harshest marijuana penalties in the nation already - this bill
will increase the number of low level criminals facing sentences designed
for king pins.
Overburden our
already overcrowded prison system with longer sentences -
a recent
Pew report found that in addition to 1 in every 100 Americans in
prison, the national average rate of increase for prison costs was six
times greater than the national average rate of increase for
higher education spending.
