The Florida House of Representatives is hearing proposed committee bill PCB HHS 19-02. THIS IS A POISON PILL.
The bill sounds great on the surface. The House is proposing to waive the card fee for veterans. In order to get this concession, we have to agree to;
- Limit the amount of THC in flower to 10% beginning January 1, 2020.
- Take away high THC products from everyone under the age of 18 with few exceptions
- Limit the dose amount of edible products to 7000 MG every 35 day
- Grants emergency rulemaking authority to DOH outside the established process.
Giving veterans and the disabled the right to reduced or free patient ID cards is a top priority for the Florida Cannabis Action Network. We cannot in good conscience trade the health and well-being of our children and patients who use cannabis flower for the free ID cards. We’ve spoken to our allied veterans groups who agree they don’t to trade a seventy-five dollar discount for limited THC in flower and more restrictions on children’s access.
Please take a minute to send a pre-written letter to member of the Health and Human Services Committee asking them to pull the poison pill or vote no on the bill. Please edit our letter to give it your own subject line. Here is a link to the pre-written letters.
