The Republican Primary went to James Vernon Mooney, Jr as three candidates vied for a spot. This district which represents the Florida Keys has voted Republican the last four elections.

The open seat will be decided in November when Mooney faces Democrat Clint Barras for the seat. Neither candidate responded to our inquiries.
