Who we are

The Florida Cannabis Action Network (FLCAN) is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to advancing sensible cannabis policies across the state of Florida. We are made up of an experienced leadership team implementing strategies that bring us closer to ending Cannabis prohibition. We believe people should have access to the whole plant, that gardening is a right that should include Cannabis, and that no one should be punished for personal use of Cannabis.

Funded entirely through individual and business memberships, FLCAN uses its resources to support day-to-day operations such as office space rental in Melbourne, FL, utilities, and the production of educational materials that promote accurate information about hemp, cannabis, and the rights of medical patients.

During Florida’s legislative sessions, all funds raised are directed toward advocacy efforts in Tallahassee. This includes maintaining a welcoming base camp for members engaged in grassroots lobbying—walking the halls, meeting with lawmakers, and attending committee hearings. FLCAN ensures that the voices of medical patients and concerned citizens are represented and heard at the state capital.

With a mission rooted in education, activism, and patient rights, FLCAN plays a critical role in shaping a more informed and compassionate cannabis policy landscape in Florida.

More about Florida Cannabis Action Network

Our Mission

The purpose of Florida Cannabis Action Network (FLCAN) is to generate public support for sensible cannabis policies and to assist in the implementation thereof; to provide a forum for the public to speak out on this issue of national social concern; to educate the public regarding the consequences of cannabis prohibition and to raise funds to promote these civic purposes.

Guiding Principles

Our guiding principles set us apart from other membership-based cannabis reform organizations. We are the human entourage effect; when you combine our talents, we are greater than we are alone. Those who share our love of cannabis, our understanding of the relationship between people and the plant, or our desire to end prohibition and see justice served should join today.

Our Promise

We promise to speak the truth about cannabis, to be a persistent and unabating voice for the cannabis plant, and the people who use it. Guaranteed!

Privacy Policy

Our status as a Florida Not-for-Profit allows us to protect our membership list. Your information is safe with us. We will never sell your information or share your contact information with anyone else. We use PayPal and a secure online payment service called Democracy Engine to collect money online.

What they say about us…

  • I met some of the founders of Cannabis Action Network in 1995. In 1997 when I was in trouble, I called Louisiana CAN founder Kevin Aplin. When Kevin founded FLCAN in 1998 I was one of the first volunteers. I’ve been able to pay it forward – thank you Florida CAN.
